An introductory course for kids who are music nerds.

This activity is a weekly class where musically-inclined kids can learn to use Spotify’s free Digital Audio Workspace (DAW), Soundtrap. Each session, your child will join a group of up to 10 peers to learn Soundtrap’s capabilities and how to apply them in making music. At the end of every session, your child will be tasked with creating a demonstration of what was learned, which will be shown off and listened to at the beginning of the following session.

This activity is meant to give your child an intuitive set of tools to express themself musically. Soundtrap is browser-based, so all they will need is a computer and a pair of headphones.

In each session, kids will:

• Learn the fundamentals of music production
• Take the occasional quiz
• Apply learned content in individual projects
• Listen to & collaborate with peers
