Safety at PlayScape

Last updated July 6, 2026

Keeping your kid safe is our number one priority, so PlayScape uses a combination of safety tools and practices to make sure every member is safe while they play online.

Background-checked hosts

Every PlayScape session is led by a trained adult host. Every host is background-checked, experienced working with kids, and responsible for keeping each session kind, safe, and genuinely fun.

Age verification

Every new member verifies their age via live video during their first session on PlayScape. We do not require webcam use during every session, but we ask members to turn on video on their first day so we can confirm their identity.

No personal details

To protect everyone's identity and personal information, we display at most a child's first name and last initial during Zoom calls. Other personal details are kept private, and kids are strongly discouraged from sharing any personally identifiable information.

Private, members-only servers

All play sessions are held in private, members-only servers so kids only play with other kids when they're online. Before a child can access one of these servers, a host must manually grant access.

Adult supervision

Sessions are always supervised by trained adult hosts, who are responsible for helping fix problems and resolve disputes between attendees. Members can virtually raise their hand at any time for 1:1 help.
